This Bruins prospect just can't stop scoring.
Matthew Poitras has been dominating the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Providence Bruins. Heading into last night's contest against the Bridgeport Islanders, Poitras had goals in four straight games and eight points over his last five contests.
Against Bridgeport, Poitras once again made a major impact, as the 20-year-old extended his goal streak to five games.
Poitras' goal against Bridgeport was a nice one, too, as he crashed the net hard before firing it past goaltender Henrik Tikkanen.
With this performance, Poitras now has five goals and 12 points in 13 contests with Providence this season. The 2022 second-round pick has done marvelously since being sent down to the AHL last month.

With Poitras continuing to score, could a recall be in his near future? Elias Lindholm and Pavel Zacha both left the Boston Bruins' last game with injuries. Furthermore, the Bruins need more scoring, so now seems like a good time to give the red-hot Poitras another shot in the NHL. Let's see if they do just that.
