Following the Boston Bruins' post-season loss to the Florida Panthers, Jeremy Swayman questioned his future with the Original Six club.

The Hockey News Big Show - Jeremy Swayman Contract

The Boston Bruins play their season-opener against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday (Oct. 8). Even with the season just a few days away, star goalie Jeremy Swayman remains a restricted free agent. Furthermore, Neely and Swayman's agent, Lewis Gross, added more fuel to the fire with their statements earlier this week.

Because of this, the Bruins are not only expected to start the season without Swayman, but trade rumors surrounding the Anchorage, Alaska native have heated up

While questions over Swayman's future in Boston have increased, the star goaltender was already worried about his future with the team after the Original Six club's second-round exit to the Panthers this past post-season.

In Episode 3 of Amazon's docuseries "FACEOFF: Inside the NHL," Swayman discussed his future with the Bruins being in question, even though he made it clear that his hope was to stay in Boston.

Here is what Swayman said on the matter, as reported by ESPN

"I mean, I don't want it to end. This could be the last time I wear a Bruins jersey. I know I'm going to do everything in my power to be a Bruin for a long time. As a kid growing up in Alaska, this was in my wildest dreams. I never want it to end. I'm just so grateful that the sun's going to rise tomorrow, and there's another opportunity to get better."

Now, in October, Swayman is still unsigned, and it is hard to predict when things will change on that front. It will be interesting to see if the Bruins and Swayman can resolve things. If not, losing Linus Ullmark and Swayman in the same year would be nothing short of disastrous.
