At the 2025 NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins traded Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a conditional 2026 first-round pick, a 2025 fourth-round pick, and prospect Fraser Minten. Getting Minten in the deal was significant for the Bruins, as the 20-year-old forward was considered one of the Maple Leafs' top prospects in their system.
Minten has plenty of upside and is now expected to be a key piece of the Bruins' future as the franchise embarks on their next chapter. He certainly showed off his offensive potential in his latest appearance for the Providence Bruins.
After not recording a point in his first two games with Providence, Minten broke the ice with his new team by putting together a monster performance against the Springfield Thunderbirds. The 2022 second-round pick recorded a natural hat trick and posted an assist in Providence's 4-1 win over Springfield.
Seeing Minten put together a performance with Providence like this so soon after being traded to Boston is undoubtedly an encouraging sign. The young forward clearly has good potential, and it will be fascinating to see how he builds off this big game from here. If he keeps this up, perhaps it could open the door for him being recalled to Boston's roster in the near future.
