According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Boston Bruins are currently "believed to be among the top contenders" in the Rick Tocchet sweepstakes. In addition, Dreger named the Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken as top contenders for Tocchet as well.

"Strong indication this week Rick Tocchet will soon land another NHL head coaching job," Dreger reported on X. "Philly, Boston, Seattle believed to be among the top contenders."

This is not the first time the Bruins have been connected to Tocchet, and it is only continuing as they remain without a full-time head coach. Tocchet being on the Bruins' radar is understandable, as he is one of the top coaches currently without a job. He also has a previous connection to the Bruins organization, as he played for them as a player for two seasons during the 1995-96 and 1996-97 campaigns.

Tocchet just completed a three-year stint with the Vancouver Canucks this season, where he led the Pacific Division club to a 38-30-14 record. This was after he won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top head coach for the 2023-24 season with the Canucks. During that campaign, Vancouver had a 50-23-9 record.

It will be very fascinating to see if the Bruins end up being the lucky team to land Tocchet. There is no question that they continue to be linked to him.
