The Carolina Hurricanes picked up a huge 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals in Game 4 on May 12. With this, the Hurricanes now have a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Caps, and former Boston Bruins forward Taylor Hall's play in Game 4 is a significant reason behind it.
Hall stepped up in a big way for the Hurricanes in the matchup. The former Bruins winger not only scored the eventual game-winning goal at the 8:24 mark of the third period but also recorded the primary assist on Sean Walker's late third-period insurance goal that gave Carolina a 4-2 lead.
Hall's goal was a nice one, too. The former Bruin received an incredible pass from Hurricanes teammate Jack Roslovic before beating Capitals goalie Logan Thompson with a perfect snap shot on the breakaway.
For his assist, Hall forced a turnover in the Hurricanes' defensive zone and made a strong breakout pass to Walker. From there, the Canes defenseman skated the puck into the Capitals' end and beat Thompson with a snapper of his own.
With this clutch performance, Hall now has two goals and four assists in nine post-season games for the Hurricanes. He is continuing to be a good addition for the Canes, and it will be fascinating to see how he builds on his hot play from here.
