Overall, it was a pretty quiet year for the London, Ontario native offensively, as he recorded five goals and 14 points in 47 games with the Providence Bruins.
Harrison was only 20 years old throughout the season (he turned 21 in June), so it is understandable that he had some growing pains in his first professional year. Yet, now that he is entering the second season of his professional career, he should take a big step forward.
Former Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid and current player development coordinator Adam McQuaid recently sang Harrison's praises. Here's what the former Bruins shutdown defender said on the matter:
"[Harrison has gotten] a lot stronger. He's going to continue getting stronger. He's been working on his skating. That's coming. So, we're happy with where he's at. He's getting really dialed in this year on the areas that he needs to improve on... He's in a good place. I think he's probably looking to be more involved offensively this season in Providence."
It is encouraging to hear that McQuaid sees Harrison getting stronger and making progress with his all-around game. As for McQuaid believing Harrison can be a more significant offensive force in 2024-25 with Providence, it is easy to understand why.
Harrison showed in junior that he has the potential to be an impactful offensive contributor. During his final year in the OHL in 2022-23, he had 34 goals and 69 points in 57 games, split between the Oshawa Generals and Windsor Spitfires. Now, it is just a matter of translating some of that over to the AHL level and onward.
Now that Harrison is more adjusted to the AHL level, it will be very interesting to see what kind of season he puts together. The potential for him to be a key piece to the Baby B's is there.
