This former Sabre is going to get a big raise.

Former Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart is having a spectacular 2023-24 season with the Florida Panthers. In 77 games, he has set new career highs with 53 goals and 89 points. This career year has come at the perfect time for him, as he is a pending UFA. As a result, his big payday is coming, whether that's with the Panthers or another club.
The Panthers will naturally want to keep him around, as he has emerged as an elite forward. However, if they can't get a deal done, he will be among the most popular players available on the market.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Lyle Richardson ranked Reinhart as the top free agent heading into the 2024 NHL Offseason. Given how wonderfully he has played this season, it is an entirely understandable spot for the star. This is especially so when noting that he has many years left in his prime.
It will be very intriguing to see what happens with Reinhart. There's no question that the Cats will want to re-sign him, but he is also in a prime position to test the market for a significant raise. Time will tell what happens with this former Sabres star.
