The Sabres should target this Flyers forward again this summer.

Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, the Buffalo Sabres were rumored to be in the mix for Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton. However, with the Flyers still being in the playoff race and Laughton not being a pending UFA, they opted to keep him in Philly for the rest of the season.
While Laughton is still with the Flyers at this juncture, that could change during the offseason. The 29-year-old forward has the potential to land them a nice return, and with the Flyers rebuilding, they may look to take advantage of that.

The Sabres could certainly use a player like Laughton in their lineup right now. He not only provides solid offense but is also very impactful with his grit and steady defensive play. He is also known for being a good leader, and the Sabres could use a veteran like him, noting that they are a young club.
The Sabres also have the kind of assets that the Flyers would look for in a Laughton trade, given their immensely strong prospect pool.
In 69 games this season with the Flyers, Laughton has 11 goals, 33 points, 126 hits, and a plus-4 rating.
