It appears that the Bruins could be eyeing some Sabres players.

With the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline rapidly approaching, the Buffalo Sabres are naturally doing some scouting around the league. They notably have scouted each of the last two Boston Bruins' games.
Per The Fourth Period's Shawn Hutcheon, the Bruins could be interested in Sabres forwards Kyle Okposo and Zemgus Girgensons.

Okposo, 35, is on an expiring contract, and there is a chance that he could be dealt, even if he's the Sabres current captain. He would be a big addition for a contender like the Bruins, as he would give them more experience and leadership in their bottom six. In 48 games this season, he has 10 goals and 17 points.
Girgensons, 30, is also a pending UFA and would likely serve as a fourth-line forward for Boston if acquired. He has struggled offensively this season, posting just four goals in 32 games, but he could benefit from a change of scenery. He would give Boston a bit more bite, too, as his 65 hits this season show.

The Fourth Period also noted that the Bruins are browsing the trade market for a defenseman and mentioned how Erik Johnson could be moved by the Sabres before the deadline. While they did not specify if the Bruins view him as a potential target, he certainly could make sense as an addition for Boston. Their right side could use a boost, and he would give them a hard-hitting defenseman.
As for Sabres top trade candidate Casey Mittelstadt, The Fourth Period noted that it has not been established if the Bruins are interested in him. However, with the Bruins needing help down the middle, perhaps they could make a push for him if he is officially shopped by Buffalo over these next few weeks.
