The Edmonton Oilers forward took to Instagram to answer a few burning questions.
EDMONTON -- Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers are on a historic streak. Their last game before the break for the All-Star game festivities resulting in them winning their 16th consecutive game.

In McDavid's own words, "it's been everybody" who's contributed to the success the team has. The defensive play and penalty kill have been tremendous as well as Stuart Skinner putting his name into the Vezina Trophy conversation.

McDavid has also contributed over this stretch - 26 points in 16 games. Only eight of those points have arrived via the power play which has made this win streak even more impressive.
Now, fans and the players will need to wait before the potential record-tying win on February 6 against the Vegas Golden Knights. The All-Star game is this weekend and players are off on vacations with family and friends to rest, recharge and gear up for the end of the year surge.
McDavid posted to his Instagram stories yesterday about his frigid adventures. However, he did post something today that might be more interesting for some fans.
In the post (partnered with betMGMcanada) he responded a few quick questions. The first question was, "what are your favorite NHL players of all time?"
His response? Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr and Mario Lemieux. That is quite the list of players to look up to!

Gretzky has too many trophies and records to count. He finished his career with 2857 points in 1487 games - approximately 1.92 points per game. Orr racked up 915 points in 657 games. That resulted in an equally astonishing 1.39 points per game, for a defenseman. Lemieux rounds out the three with 1723 points in 915 games - 1.88 points per game.
It's no wonder that McDavid is able to dominate the league how he has when you combine the work ethic & dedication to the sport with the hockey icons he looked up to.
