Bowen Byram's game came to an end early against Finland.

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram is currently representing Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Championship. The 22-year-old has had a strong tournament thus far for Canada, posting one goal, four points, and a plus-5 rating in five games.

While Byram had a solid tournament for Canada, he took things too far in the club's recent matchup against Finland. While battling in front of Canada's net, Byram got into a battle with winger Jesse Puljujarvi. It was a pretty tame scrum until Byram caught Puljujarvi below the belt with a slash.
For this play, Byram was given a five-minute major slashing penalty and a game misconduct. As for Puljujarvi, he picked up a two-minute minor for roughing.
While Byram's night ended early, Canada still picked up the win, defeating Finland by a 5-3 final score. Two Sabres played notable roles in the win, as Owen Power had a goal and two assists, while Dylan Cozens had a goal and an assist.
