The Sabres should make a push for this Maple Leafs forward if he hits the market.
The Buffalo Sabres should be in for an eventful offseason. After extending their playoff drought to 13 years, there's no question that they will be looking to add to their roster this summer.
One area that the Sabres are expected to improve in this offseason is at third-line center. Peyton Krebs struggled to produce offensively as the club's 3C, and he may be better suited for a fourth-line role because of it. Due to this, Max Domi is one player the Sabres should look to add this offseason.
Domi, 29, is due for a new contract, and at this juncture, his future in Toronto is not set in stone. The Maple Leafs falling in the first round again may lead to some changes to their roster.
If the Maple Leafs and Domi do not agree to terms on a new deal before free agency, the Sabres must make a push for him. He would be a significant addition to their roster, as he would give them more offensive production and plenty of grit to go along with it.
Domi had a strong season for the Maple Leafs in 2023-24, posting nine goals, 47 points, and 118 penalty minutes in 80 games. He was also solid during the playoffs, as he had a goal and four points in seven games.
With the Sabres needing more offense and overall toughness, Domi is one of the many potential UFAs who they should keep an eye on.
