OTP - Will Zemgus Girgensons Be Back?

The Buffalo Sabres need to make changes to their group this offseason. After extending their playoff drought to 13 years, it is apparent moves are on the way.

The Sabres have several pending UFAs who are not expected to return, including Victor Olofsson, Eric Comrie, Tyson Jost, and Eric Robinson. However, there's a real chance that Zemgus Girgensons will be back next season.

Girgensons, 30, is a player whom the Sabres should be open to keeping around. The 2012 first-round pick has spent the entirety of his 10-year and 688-game career as a Sabre and is a well-known leader for them. Along with that, he loves playing in Buffalo and is a solid part of their fourth line.

Girgensons appeared in 63 games this season with the Sabres, posting eight goals, 14 points, and 141 hits. While he did not produce the highest offensive totals this year, he was still quite impactful with his physicality.

We will now need to wait and see if the Sabres decide to bring back Girgensons from here. It certainly should be on the table.
