NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reported that Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram has generated trade interest around the league early this season. However, Friedman also noted that the Sabres have informed teams they are unwilling to move him right now.

Byram is a young defenseman who has become an important part of the Sabres' blueline. Because of this, it makes sense that general manager Kevyn Adams is not looking to move him. Adams should not change this position any time soon, either.

Since his arrival to the Sabres last season, Byram has made a very positive impact. In 18 games with Buffalo after being acquired last season, he had three goals and nine points. He is continuing to play well for the Sabres this season, too, as he has three goals, 11 points, 18 hits, and a plus-7 rating in his first 18 games.

Byram is already playing excellently in a top-pairing role with Rasmus Dahlin. However, when noting that he is only 23 years old, he still has time to get even better. Thus, it would be a big mistake if the Sabres decided to move him at any point this season. They have other assets to work with.
