This potential Sabres target could be on his old team’s radar.

The Buffalo Sabres are entering the 2024 NHL Offseason with the expectation of improving their offense. Adding a top-six winger is a top priority, and longtime Sabres target Patrick Kane is one player who could be on Buffalo's radar if he hits the market.
The Sabres were in on Kane before he joined the Detroit Red Wings for the 2023-24 season. The Sabres would love to have the Buffalo native's offensive production in their lineup, but he will surely be a hot commodity if he reaches free agency.
With free agency a little over a month away, potential suitors for Kane are already emerging. According to The Athletic's Scott Powers, the Chicago Blackhawks are likely to have discussions about the idea of bringing back Kane.

Powers added that while he cannot confirm that Kane wants to return to the Blackhawks, he believes he would be open to it.
Kane, 35, cemented himself as a future Hall of Famer during his remarkable 16-year tenure as a Blackhawk. With the Blackhawks having Connor Bedard and looking to get him some help, bringing back Kane is certainly an avenue worth considering.
This will be something to pay attention to as we get closer to free agency. If the Blackhawks officially decide they want Kane back and make a push for him, the Sabres will have a ton of competition to try to convince him to play for his hometown club.
