Former Buffalo Sabres defenseman Nikita Zadorov had an excellent postseason with the Vancouver Canucks. The shutdown defenseman not only provided plenty of physicality but was impactful offensively, posting four goals and eight points in 13 games.

However, unfortunately for Zadorov, his strong postseason run has come to an end, as the Vancouver Canucks fell to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7 of the second round. As a result, the Canucks’ magical 2023-24 season is over.

With the Canucks now knocked out, Zadorov will now focus on his next contract. After his impressive postseason, there is no question that he has improved his value. But will it be enough for the Canucks to look to re-sign him?

If Zadorov hits the market, there will be a ton of interest in his services. He is one of the top defensemen from this year's free agency class, as he is dominant with his physicality and can chip in offensively.

We now need to keep a very close eye on what happens with Zadorov this summer. Given how well the 6-foot-6 defenseman performed for the Canucks, they should work hard to re-sign before he gets the chance to test the market.
