The Sabres should consider targeting this Avalanche forward.

The Buffalo Sabres are likely to add to their forward group this offseason. They could use a veteran who produces well offensively in their middle six.
As a result of this, one player whom they should seriously consider making a push for this offseason is Colorado Avalanche forward Jonathan Drouin.
After a tough end to his tenure with the Montreal Canadiens, Drouin had an outstanding bounce-back season with the Avalanche. In 79 games, he posted 19 goals and set new career highs with 37 assists and 56 points. He showed that he can still be a top-six forward, and he will have a ton of interest if he hits the free-agent market.

Drouin, 29, would be a great addition to the Sabres' top six and power play. This is because he is an impactful playmaker who would thrive at setting up Sabres stars like Tage Thompson, Dylan Cozens, and Alex Tuch.
Drouin has expressed his desire to stay with the Avalanche, but that is far from set in stone because of their salary cap situation heading into the offseason. As a result, there is a decent chance that he will reach free agency. If he does, expect him to be one of the many forwards on Buffalo's radar.
