It's safe to say that this Sabres forward has made some enemies on the ice.
Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner is known for his offensive talent and ability to score goals. It is what has allowed him to have such a long and successful NHL career. This season is no different, either, as he has 17 goals and 33 points in 41 games. Yet, it appears that Skinner's scrappiness has also made some enemies on the ice.
The Athletic recently released an anonymous player poll, and Skinner made the cut on a surprising question: "Who’s the player in the league whose face you most want to punch?"
Jeff Skinner In the poll, Skinner was tied for sixth with Ryan Lomberg (Florida Panthers), Nazem Kadri (Calgary Flames), and Kevin Fiala (Los Angeles Kings). There were 147 votes for this specific question, and Skinner got 2.04% of them.
One anonymous voter had this to say for choosing Skinner: "He’s just annoying to play against."
Some well-known agitators for whom Skinner received more votes than in the poll include Tom Wilson (Washington Capitals), Radko Gudas (Anaheim Ducks), and former Sabres forward Evander Kane (Edmonton Oilers).
Nevertheless, whether he's annoying to play against or not, Skinner certainly is doing something right to still be an impactful player in his 14th season.
