Former Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart had a big reason for missing the Stanley Cup parade.
Former Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart played a significant role in the Florida Panthers' Stanley Cup win. The 28-year-old posted 10 goals - including the Stanley Cup winner - and 16 points in 24 playoff games. This was after he had 57 goals and 94 points in 82 regular-season games.
Yet, while Reinhart was a massive reason for the Panthers' success this year, he is notably not attending the club's Stanley Cup parade. That may raise some eyebrows, as this could have been a once-in-a-lifetime moment for the West Vancouver native. Yet, his reason for missing it is entirely justifiable.
In a video through the Panthers' official X account, Reinhart shared that he had to miss the parade because of his best friend's wedding.
While Reinhart made it clear that he is sad about missing the parade, he also said there was no way he could miss his best friend's wedding. Clearly, Reinhart is a very loyal friend.
Tomorrow could be another big day for Reinhart, too, as he will become a free agent if the Panthers don't get him signed by noon. However, while this is the case, the expectation is that he will sign a long-term deal to remain in Florida.
