It’s time for the rubber to meet the road.
It’s not the first time that the Colorado Avalanche have faced adversity. On Thursday night, they will face adversity one more time, as they fight to stay in the hunt for Lord Stanley.

Luckily, they will play the Dallas Stars at home. Ironically, their home record in these situations is not the greatest.
Which is definitely a huge concern.

The NHL awards are nigh.
The Avalanche have an all-time record of 25-26 in elimination games. However, they have a 2-15 record in series where they trail 3-2. It’s a 0-7 record in series that they begin on the road.
As I mentioned, it’s a significant concern.
And they’ve been in this position before with the Stars. Last year, they faced the Stars in the Western Conference Semi-Final and lost Game 6 in double overtime, 2-1.
The Stars have an incredible Game 6 record, particularly when they begin that series at home. When they are up 3-2 in a series, they have a 21-3 record. When that series starts at home, that record improves to 13-1.
The odds might not be in the Avalanche’s favor, but playing in front of your home fans always gives your team a boost. The Avalanche were 26-12-3 at home during the regular season.
For the Avalanche and their fans, let’s hope that their regular season luck carries over to Thursday night’s game.
