Head Coach of the Minnesota Wild, John Hynes, is looking to make a change in the goalie crease to help tie the series up 1-1 heading into Game 2

Despite the high-scoring game, both goaltenders remained in the game as the teams went back and forth. Despite Scott Wedgewood allowing six goals, his team still won, which puts the pressure on Head Coach John Hynes to either run it back or make an adjustment.

With Game 2 against the Minnesota Wild tonight, last game's 9-6 win was one for the books, with the Avalanche piling on eight goals against Jesper Wallstedt, a career-high for him.

On Tuesday, after the morning skate, Hynes announced that he will be making a change in net; Filip Gustavsson will start in Game 2.

Gustavsson hasn’t made an appearance yet in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Wallstedt played all six games against the Dallas Stars and finished with a 4-2-0 record with a 2.05 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.

The last time Gustavsson played this season was on April 13th against the St. Louis Blues, when he allowed 5 goals on 21 shots, and the Wild lost 6-3.

Despite the Wild looking to even the series up, the Avalanche have had Gustavsson's name whenever he plays against them. With a record of 3-7-1 with a .898 save percentage and a 3.56 goals-against average. He will really need to step up big for his team here if they don’t want to be down 2-0 heading back home.
