    The Columbus Blue Jackets were back in action last night against the Ottawa Senators.

    Unfortunately, they fell behind early and it hurt the club. It was a loss that the team didn't want to have happen on home ice. They now look to turn it around on Saturday.

    But first, here are some quotes from both team about last night's game.

    Columbus Blue Jackets

    Dean Evason - Head Coach:

    • Felt the setback in the game hurt them
    • Felt that they felt good after digging out of the first hole
    • They need a little bit more
    • No real message in the first intermission, the team knew what they needed to do
    • Pulled Elvis for a momentum shift, but also felt that he needed to make a few more saves
    • Team needs to support Elvis more, "we as a group needs to be better"
    • Is concerned about the mistakes that the team is making defensively

    Dante Fabbro:

    • Extremely tough to come out of a 3-0 hole
    • Felt the team showed some fight but came up short
    • "At the end of the day, we need wins"
    • Feels that the belief in the room helped them surge in the second
    • Feels that it is on the entire team
    • They need to be better in front of their goalies
    • Team has talked about how they need to be more of a desperate team

    Boone Jenner:

    • Really tough to dig out of an early hole
    • Felt they were coming back in the second
    • Felt that the Senators' late second period goal hurt them big
    • Wished the team got 2 points in his return
    • Acknowledged that they need points and that they need to be more desperate
    • Felt that the team couldn't get themselves out of the hole
    • Need to turn up the urgency for Saturday night
    • Late period goals really hurt them

    Zach Werenski:

    • 3-0 hold really hurt the team
    • They tried to come back, but the Senators played well to stop their momentum
    • Feels the team needs to be more desperate right from the start
    • Felt the team have key breakdowns at key times
    • Team needs to dig deep and find ways to win
    • Guys on the team need to have full buy-in and just win
    • Feels the team is finding ways to lose
    • Reminds reporters and fans, it's tough to be a goalie
    • Feels that some of the goals that are going in, any team would score - it's not on the goalies
    • The message in the room is that they will be okay, they just need to win games
    • Admits it's frustrating

    Ottawa Senators

    Travis Green - Head Coach:

    • Felt they played a strong game
    • Overcame Columbus' second period push
    • Felt that they took advantage of mistakes
    • Felt Stutzle's line had great chances in the game - carried play when they are on the ice
    • Feels the team needs to be a four line team to win like they did last night

    Michael Amadio:

    • Win was a great start to the road trip
    • Team played well 5-on-5
    • Feels his line played great
    • Felt the team has been playing a full 60 for the last handful of games

    Drake Batherson:

    • Felt the team had a good start
    • Felt that Columbus pushed hard in the second and made it a game
    • Offensively, he felt they were really strong
    • Felt that his line generated a ton of chances
    • Greasy goals led to the win - teams need that sometimes
    • Feels that he has gotten better over the last handful of games
    • Felt that Ottawa needed that win
    • Will do whatever he can to help his team win
    • Need to carry that forward to their game against Minnesota

    Tim Stutzle:

    • Felt they had a really good first
    • Felt that Columbus pushed back in the second
    • They played smart over 60 minutes
    • Felt that the third period was huge for them
    • Quick shifts was needed with only three centers
    • Feels his line is creating chances and going hard to the net
    • Felt that his line and the team kept it simple
    • Important victory to start the road trip off
    • Feels that the team can build off of this win
