Last night, the Columbus Blue Jackets were in action against the St. Louis Blues and came out on top by a score of 3-2.

The Blue Jackets are now winners of four straight games. They don't have a long turn around before they are back in action, they play the New York Islanders today for a chance to make that five in a row.

But, before that let's take a look at some of the quotes from the players and coaches from the game.

    Columbus Blue Jackets:

    Dean Evason: Head Coach

    • He didn't like the style of play in the third period, but happy they found a way to hold on
    • Praised Jet for his play, felt he limited the secondary chances
    • Felt that the team has made adjustments on special teams to get the job done
    • Told his team the best way to manage a third period push is to put the puck in their zone
    • Felt his team failed to get the puck deep enough in their zone
    • Said his team talked about staying in hockey games, to give them a chance to win games
    • Said that it is a sign of maturity since the start of the season
    • Really enjoys that both his goalies have really well and held them in games

    • Ultimately goal is to help the club win games
    • Felt that the team's compete level was high tonight
    • Described the last five minutes of the game as "fun"

    Sean Monahan: 1 G, +1, 1 S, 19:17 TOI

    • When you win games in this leagues, life is usually better
    • Happy to score, but isn't stressed about it
    • Thrilled by the play of the goalies, as a tandem
    • Can't let the Blues control play like they did in the third
    • Need to find ways to seal games, they did that tonight
    • 600th career point doesn't mean too much to him, but will keep the puck

    Zach Werenski: 1 G, 1 A, 4 S, 25:48 TOI

    • Credits the entire team for a good win
    • Feels they need to be more aggressive in the third
    • Awesome to see special teams finally winning them games
    • Maturity of the team has taken a step forward this season
    • Feels the group can win each and every night
    • Points are important this time of year, early season points helps you become a playoff team
    • Looking to a split tomorrow against the Islanders
    • Happy to see Monahan get his first of the season
    • Team feels the team has a chance to win every night with the goalie tandem they have

    St. Louis Blues:

    Jim Montgomery: Head Coach

    • Really liked their defensive habits
    • Thought they were good in the first and third period
    • Turnovers hurt the team
    • Felt in the third period, they got in behind the defense, which helped them get pressure
    • They are doing the small things right, they need to stuck with it and wins will come
    • Laws of averages suggest, they will get rewarded for their strong play
    • Hofer kept the team in the game at times
    • Felt forth line was excellent
    • Need to take it one game at a time
    • Their process is to stay in the moment
    • If they stick with it, results will come

What's Next for the Blue Jackets?

As mentioned above, the Blue Jackets have a quick turnaround as they take on the Islanders in the second half of a back-to-back. They are pushing for their fifth straight win against an Islanders team that has seen a resurgence with the emergence of Matthew Schaefer.

After that, they head out to Western Canada to take on the Calgary Flames on Wednesday Nov. 5th, the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, Nov. 8th and then the Edmonton Oilers on Monday Nov. 10th. They will wrap up their Western swing with a matchup against the Seattle Kraken.
