

The Cleveland Monster's have announced their leadership group for 2025-26 AHL season.
The Monsters have named Brendan Gaunce, who served as the captain during the 2023-24 season, as team captain once again.
They have also named forwards Hudson Fasching and Owen Sillinger as well as defensemen Dysin Mayo as the team's assistant captain.
Gaunce, 31, has played in 189 career NHL and scored 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points. However, at the AHL level, he has scored 123 goals and 139 assists for 262 points in 382 games. His best year in the AHL came in 2023-24 when he scored 39 points in 46 games with the Monsters.
As for Fasching, the former New York Islander, has played in 175 games at the NHL level and scored 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points. The 30 year old, has found some success in the AHL, he has scored 78 goals and 84 assists for 162 points in 308 games.
Next, Sillinger, 28, has only played one NHL game that came last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Unfortunately, he didn't register a point in that game. In the AHL, he has scored 36 goals and 78 assists for 114 points in 202 games.
Lastly, Mayo, has played 82 games at the NHL level with the Arizona Coyotes and scored four goals and eight assists for 12 points. He has played a ton in the AHL. In 426 games he has scored 29 goals and 68 assists for 97 points. This season with the Monsters, he will surpass the 100 point mark in this career.
