The Edmonton Oilers have announced that they have signed former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jack Roslovic.

The contract is a one-year deal that carries an average annual value of $1.5 million.

As NHL insider Elliotte Friedman mentioned, the two sides "re-engaged." That follows reports from TSN' Pierre LeBrun earlier this off-season that the Oilers had offered him a contract, but he had reportedly turned it down.

LeBrun said this on a summer episode of TSN's Overdrive:

“He we believe that he actually had something on the table in the summer from the Edmonton Oilers, and it didn't interest him."

Now, he is going to join one of the best clubs in the NHL, and hopefully can help them get over the hump of losing in the Stanley Cup Final.

Roslovic, 28, has spent time with the Winnipeg Jets, Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, and Carolina Hurricanes. Over his nine-year career, he has scored 102 goals and 158 assists for 260 points in 526 games.

His career-high came back in 2021-22 with Columbus, when he scored 45 points in 81 games. It will ultimately depend on where he plays, but if he gets a chance to play in the Oilers' top six, there is a good chance he could set a new career-high in points.

With the deal just getting signed late last night, there is no word yet on when he will join the club. However, it is safe to assume that he will be in the lineup as soon as he feels ready.
