The Dallas Stars are in Edmonton for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. The first game in Alberta is a matinee game, which makes a quick turn around for both teams.

There is no morning skate which still leaves some lingering questions about Roope Hintz, his health and if he even made the trip after being slashed on the top of the foot by Darnell Nurse. Nurse did not receive any supplemental discipline, just the two-minute minor on the play.

The series is tied 1-1 after the Stars were shut out by Stuart Skinner in Game 2 on home ice. This is the fourth time the Stars have been shut out this post-season, though they were only shut out twice in the 82-game regular season. While that is an undesirable stat, it has shown to not hinder the team too much, as they have went on to win the series against the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets.

The more concerning part is their scoring at even strength. It has lacked in most of the post-season especially when you take out a couple players like Mikko Rantanen and Mikael Granlund. For the most part, everyone else has not produced up to what they are capable of and what the team expects of them.

If Hintz did not make the trip and will not play, it is likely that Oskar Back gets back in the lineup and they slot Wyatt Johnston up with Rantanen and Granlund. Johnston is one of the players that has had a rough go round during the post-season. The domino effect of shifting the lines could result in Jason Robertson or Sam Steel moving up with Jamie Benn and Evgenii Dadonov.

After the injury to Hintz and comments made after the game, it's possible the Stars are looking for retribution for taking out their number one center, but they will have to make smart decisions, as Edmonton's power-play is not one Dallas wants to give extra opportunities. Though the penalty kill and Jake Oettinger have looked sharp, the Stars need to focus on creating offense and taking some pressure of of the defense and goal tending.

Puck drop in Edmonton is just have 2PM CST on EPSN.
