Grand Rapids overcomes a 2-0 deficit in the third period thanks to a Jonatan Berggren hat trick, forcing a Game 5 Sunday night

Heading into the third period of last night's Game 4 in the Calder Cup Playoff Central Division Final, it appeared the Grand Rapids Griffins were soon destined for golfing, fishing, and some offseason workouts.  They trailed the Milwaukee Admirals 2-0, and they trailed the best-of-five series 2-1; a loss would end the season.  Instead, thanks to a hat trick from Jonatan Berggren (with a Joel L'Esperance goal thrown in for good measure), the Griffins claimed a 4-2 victory to force a decisive Game 5 Sunday evening.

All four Griffin goals came in just three minutes and 30 seconds.  First, Berggren struck on the power play from Carter Mazur and Austin Czarnik.  Then, L'Esperance pitched in another PPG a minute and 30 seconds later, with assists to Matt Luff and Simon Evinsson.

33 seconds after that, Berggren scored at even strength, with Mazur and Antti Tuomisto setting him up, to give GR its first lead of the evening.  A minute and 27 seconds later, Berggren completed his hat trick, and the Griffins had an insurance marker.  In eight playoff games, he has six goals and four assists.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Cossa was spectacular in net for Grand Rapids.  He made 31 saves on 33 shots.  After the stirring victory, the Griffins will have a chance to advance Sunday night in Milwaukee.
