EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers are singing the blues.

The St. Louis Blues must have done something right recently, because the hockey gods were on their side last night. The Oilers had two goals either waved off or called back.

The first goal was seemingly scored by Evander Kane. However, immediately after the puck found the back of the net the referees waived it off because of a high stick.

Unfortunately for Oilers, the bad luck didn't stop there. In the second period they had another goal get called back - this time for goaltender interference.

Then they were scored on, and felt that there was enough contact with Stuart Skinner to rationalize a coach's challenge for goaltender interference.

It was not a successful challenge.

For Kane - getting his goal called back was double frustrating - as he hasn't scored a goal for 20 games. That is a career worst for the power forward. His previous worst was 14 games without a goal.

Kane had a couple of very good games recently and he certainly started strong last night. He'll need to wait another night to break his current career slump.
