EDMONTON -- Agents are one of the most necessary elements in professional hockey.

They are also one of the least discussed roles. An agent has a lot on their plate when it comes to their clients. They are involved in every aspect of the players' life and development.

There are a few Edmonton Oilers players who are represented by David Gagner. For those who don't know, David is Sam Gagner's father. He's been a player agent alongside current Oilers CEO Jeff Jackson for over a decade.

We recently looked at the connection between David and Los Angeles Kings forward Quinton Byfield. What better time to look at who David represents within the Oilers organization. The list is surprisingly short, but notable.

    Connor Brown

Connor Brown had a rocky season. Coming off of knee surgery, he signed a one-year deal with the Oilers last offseason. It took him most of the season to find his stride.

Brown thrived in the environment of the playoffs. He was one of the team's best players over the course of the Stanley Cup playoff run. He was a crucial part of the team's penalty kill, which was the best in the league over the postseason.

He re-upped with the Oilers this offseason. He's grown to love the city and the fans who cheer the team on.

    Evan Bouchard

Evan Bouchard had a tremendous offensive season. In 81 games he scored 18 times and collected 82 points while skating 22:59 per game. He set career highs for goals, assists, points, time on ice, shots, game winning goals and power play points.

Bouchard is entering the second year of the two-year extension he signed last August. When his deal expires he will still be an RFA, with a $4.3-million qualifying offer. If things continue to progress for him this season, Bouchard will be worth a lot more than that come next offseason.
