EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers are one of the best teams in the NHL this year. They proved that with their record breaking win streak that they rode into the All-Star break.

With the trade deadline just over two weeks away - rumors are heating up around the league.
Broadcasters and beat writers are taking extra note of scouts that are visiting their home teams. For Oilers fans, one particular scouting assignment could produce intriguing results.
The Hockey News was told that the Oilers are scouting two specific players at the Seattle Kraken vs Vancouver Canucks game. One won't be a surprise but the other will be.
Jordan Eberle and Justin Schultz.
Could the Oilers acquire a once-celebrated offensive defenseman in Schultz?
After Sam Gagner returned to Edmonton for the third time this year - I'd say anything is possible.
For all his defensive issues, Schultz certainly fits the bill as a defender that Paul Coffey could work his magic on. Evan Bouchard is one of the Oilers best defensemen right now - from a defensive perspective.
With a similar skill set as Bouchard, Schultz could certainly be a sneaky good addition.
