EDMONTON -- Death, taxes and changing weather - these are the only guarantees in life.

The Edmonton Oilers are guaranteed to play at least four games in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. What's uncertain is just how far they will go. Most pundits have pegged the Oilers as the underdogs to the ferocious Florida Panthers.

My prediction is that the Oilers win in six games.

Hockey fans need to wait one more day to catch a glimpse of Connor McDavid and company in Game one. While the Oilers and Panthers have their media day today, 30 other teams are in offseason mode.

The Boston Bruins appear to have made a final decision on Milan Lucic. According to The Fourth Period, they have no interest in bringing Lucic back into the fold.

Given how this season transpired, this is not surprising whatsoever. Lucic took a leave of absence after he was taken into police custody following a domestic incident with his wife.

They went through the judicial process, and eventually the case was dropped. Brittany then filed for divorce due to "irreconcilable differences."

Other than his love for the game, there is no real reason for Lucic to pursue playing hockey. He has won the Stanley Cup - a hockey player's ultimate dream.

For Milan, it certainly seems like his personal life should be his main focus. All the best to Milan and his family, as they sort out what their future looks like.
