Former Edmonton Oilers' forward Pat Maroon was leaving his mark on an unbelievable game.

EDMONTON -- Before the Edmonton Oilers lost to the Vancouver Canucks last night, another exciting game was played.

The Boston Bruins fell to the Florida Panthers in glorious fashion. While the scoreboard showed a 6-1 score - this game had more fireworks than just goals.

A total of 125 hits were thrown and 148 penalty minutes were dished out. This game had (almost) more excitement to it than the Oilers - Canucks game.
Some of the fireworks involved a fight between superstars - Matthew Tkachuk and David Pastrnak.

The playoffs brings out the best of players - especially these caliber of players. A former Oilers forward found himself on the receiving end of a questionable call.
Pat Maroon grabbed Nick Cousins by the collar of his jersey and appeared to exchange stern words. The referees came by and split up the two players and then threw Maroon out of the game - despite him appearing as cool as a cucumber.
Maroon received a two minute roughing penalty in addition to a 10-minute misconduct. Cousins was also handed a 10-minute misconduct on the play.

Given how much had gone on previous to this incident, it's easy to see the referees rationale on this. It seems unfair - objectively speaking - especially when seeing just how many misconducts were handed out after Maroon was already kicked out of the game.
Regardless, it seems like Maroon is finding himself in a role that is suited to his skill set.
