Weddings, proposals and births happen all the time. Marriages and proposals happen more in the summer, while births are evenly spread out over a calendar year.
Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid is getting married later this month. Leon Draisaitl proposed to his girlfriend last week.
Former Oilers defender Ethan Bear has some news of his own. He and his wife have welcomed their second child, Bella Faye Josephine Bear. They made the announcement on Sunday July 14th.

The caption under the photo of the newborn is, "Bella Faye Josephine Bear is here." This is Bear's second child with wife Lenasia. In 2023 they welcomed their first child Gracie into the world.
Bear is currently with the Washington Capitals. He has had a tumultuous time since being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for Warren Foegele. He eventually found his way to the Capitals after spending some time with the Vancouver Canucks.

Professionally he hasn't found the heights of production (or usage) that he did with the Oilers. In the 2019-20 regular season he played 71 games and collected 21 points while playing 21:58 a game.
Last year he played 24 games with the Capitals. He gathered four points and averaged 14:54 of ice time per game.

Bear entered the NHLPA player assistance program at the end of March. By the end of April, he was out of the program and back training with the team. Hopefully he got whatever he needed from the program.
