Corey Perry could be the key to get Edmonton Oilers' Evander Kane going.
EDMONTON -- Corey Perry has had an incredible career - but he's not done yet.

He signed with the Edmonton Oilers in January - amid controversy surrounding his unceremonious exit from the Chicago Blackhawks organization. With the past behind him, he is carving out an identity with the Oilers.
By now, everyone has seen the interaction between the two players during their last game against the Calgary Flames. It's fair to assume the conversation was heated - as most people have seen for themselves now.
According to former NHLer Jason Demers, this type of reaction to virtually any play was not uncommon during the majority of his playing days. He revealed to the Oilersnation Everyday podcast, "I grew up in the league in this way - I was on some teams where on the bench was like a warzone, it was worse than on the ice."
However drastic that may seem to some - there are others who become more engaged because of it. Demers thinks Evander Kane is one of those players, "I'm more engaged when it's that way - guys like Kaner [Evander Kane] need that."
"I think Perry is the perfect guy to have on that team - you need a guy like Corey that can grab him by the scruff and just tell him 'hey let's go'."
It's clear that Kane's engagement has been off and on for a while. This might be the kind of thing that he needs to get going - and to be an effective player for the Oilers once the playoffs begin.
