EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers will look to start a new winning streak tomorrow night against the Anaheim Ducks. They lost on Tuesday night to the Vegas Golden Knights - in a game that had "playoff match-up" written all over it.

While the team waits to get into their next game, it appears as though the general manager Ken Holland is busy speaking to teams. Both Holland and Jeff Jackson have spoken this year about making moves that will improve this team's chance at a Stanley Cup this year.

Darren Dreger on Toronto 1050 Overdrive spoke to Bryan Hayes, Jeff O'Neill and Jamie McLennan about a variety of topics. One of them was a name that hadn't been directly connected to the Oilers, but now has.

When speaking about Chris Tanev, Dreger brought up the Oilers as a team to watch out for. "There's a team that I hadn't heard about, that I heard about today."

He also said that, "I think the Oilers would love to have Chris Tanev." Dreger added that , "it would probably come at the expense of Cody Ceci, if you are trying to extend him."

The next month leading up to the trade deadline will be interesting to say the least. If the Oilers are indeed in on Tanev, then paying a high price to potentially sign the player long term should be a gamble that the team makes in a heartbeat.
