EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers will look to shake off their defeat at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday night against the Anaheim Ducks. They lost to the Golden Knights 3-1 last night in a hard-fought tight-checking game.

It's far from the right time to panic for Oilers fans right now. While it is disappointing for the team to not tie the NHL record in consecutive wins - what they did was massively impressive.

With this streak over, perhaps the focus for the team can shift to making an upgrade. The folks over at Bleacher Report have their own thoughts about which player or asset is the 'Top Bargaining Chip' for each NHL team.

According to this publication, Philip Broberg is seen as the top bargaining chip for the Oilers. That lines up with everything that the media that covers the Oilers already appears to know.

This season he didn't light the world on fire during his NHL tenure, but he has been a rock-solid two-way defender for the Oilers AHL affiliate - the Bakersfield Condors.

He has 18 points in 27 games played this season - nine of those points have come in the last eight games. He's fired 65 shots on net, which averages out to 2.4 shots on goal per game.

While this season hasn't gone the way that Broberg or the Oilers expected it would for the budding blue liner - a change of scenery would do both parties considerable good.
