Leon Draisaitl Lays Out Bruins Captain

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl was playing heavy last night against the Boston Bruins.

Former Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian has come out of retirement. He is continuing his playing career overseas with Czech Extraliga's HC Sparta Praha.

EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers picked up a big win against the Boston Bruins last night (Feb. 5), defeating the Original Six club in overtime by a 2-1 final score. Leon Draisatil tied the game up with 1:20 left in the third period and then quickly scored the overtime winner to help the Oilers secure two points.

Draisaitl was clearly the Oilers' hero in this victory because of his two-goal game. Without his clutch play during the final minutes of regulation and overtime, the Oilers would have been shutout by the Bruins. However, he was impactful in more ways than one during this contest.

Draisaitl's physicality was quite present throughout this matchup. He most notably threw a big but also clean hit on Bruins captain Brad Marchand that helped the Oilers gain some much-needed momentum.

While Draisaitl is understandably most known for his outstanding offensive contributions, he also can be quite effective with his physicality, as this hit on Marchand shows.

Nevertheless, this was a strong all-around performance for Draisaitl, but the hit on Marchand was the cherry on top. After his two-goal game, Draisaitl now has 32 goals to go along with 80 points in 60 games played this season.
