Connor McDavid has his speed, Leon Draisaitl has his backhand passes, and Evan Bouchard has his icy demeanor, just to name a few.

But one player who has constantly impressed this writer has been Jake Walman.

Trending Oilers Stories

Walman was acquired for a conditional pick and a prospect who wasn’t going to play for the Oilers. To say that the trade has worked out for the Copper and Blue is a bit of an understatement.

Walman has brought a level of gamesmanship and snarl that was not advertised upon his acquisition. He has ruthlessly cleared the net at every opportunity that has presented itself.

During overtime in Game 1, Walman taunted Tomas Nosek after he was called for a Delay of Game penalty in overtime. Walman had a sequence in Game 3 that displayed a different aspect of his game.

With 2:51 left in the second period, Walman was shooting water from his water bottle into the Panthers' bench. This doesn’t seem like that big of a deal – more of a nuisance than anything else.

Everything in the playoffs is magnified. The physicality is bigger, the defense is harder, and the margin for error is much slimmer.

Let’s see what Walman can bring to the lineup for Game 4.
