EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers have just kicked off their post season.

Last night Oilers fans were treated to a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings - but that score makes the game seem a lot closer than what it actually was. The Oilers dominated play from the opening faceoff right until the end, only with a few strange plays that resulted in a couple goals against.
Before the game, Bakersfield Condors defender Philip Broberg was called up. While he didn't skate in last night's game, he did take warm ups as an extra body.
After practice today, the team announced that he was going back down to the Condors.
At this point in time, the reason is not explicitly known as to why Broberg was sent down so quickly. Earlier today Tony Brar of Oilers TV shared a clip of Kris Knoblauch talking with Broberg during practice today.

After seeing this roster move, my sense is that Knoblauch has given Broberg a specific detail to work on. And he wants him to work on it as the Condors open their playoff series tomorrow night against the Ontario Reign.
If the Condors see an early exit in their playoff run or someone on the blueline gets injured - I'd expect Broberg to be back up with the team on a moments notice.
