The final players were voted into the All-Star Game yesterday, and an Oilers forward shockingly didn't make the cut.
Yesterday, the NHL announced which players were voted in by the fans. Shockingly, Edmonton Oilers winger Zach Hyman did not make the cut. When looking at how outstanding he has played this season, he is easily among the biggest, if not the biggest, All-Star snub.
Hyman is having the best season of his career in 2023-24. In 38 games, he has a team-leading 26 goals and is third-place on the team in points (42). His 26 goals also tie him for fifth in the NHL with New York Rangers star Artemi Panarin.

Besides his excellent goal-scoring this season, Hyman has easily been one of the Oilers' most consistent players. Even during their roughest point of the season, he was still making an impact and has been a big reason for their turnaround.
With fan votes, some players are naturally going to get snubbed, as, in the end, a player's popularity plays a big role in the final results. However, with Hyman being one of the NHL's best players and scorers this season, it is tough to see he didn't make it.
