Evan Bouchard has gone down in Edmonton Oilers history in a small way.
Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard notched his second overtime goal of the season yesterday, putting his stamp on a 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars.

It marked numerous special occasions, including making Bouchard one of the best defensemen goal-scorers in the NHL with 14 this season. It also made him only the second Oilers blueliner to notch multiple overtime goals in a single season.
Andrej Sekera, a now 37-year-old retired Slovak defenseman (who ironically spent his last season with the Stars in 2021-22) achieved this in his 2015-16 season with the Oilers.
The 2015-16 season was one of Sekera's best, with six goals and 24 assists. It was also one of only two seasons Sekera scored an overtime goal at all. The last time being in 2007-08 when he played for the Buffalo Sabres.
The same holds true for Bouchard, whose only other season with an overtime goal was last year. In 2022-23 he only scored one overtime goal. Bouchard is tied with Detroit Red Wings' blueliner Jake Walman for second-most OT goals for a defenseman this season.
Thomas Harley of the Stars is the only defenseman to score more overtime goals this year - and he has three.
