EDMONTON -- Overtime proved favorable for the Edmonton Oilers last night.
The Montreal Canadiens gave the Oilers a run for their money - staging a comeback in the third period. Down 2-0, they score twice to pull the game into overtime.

In the final minute of the third period Joel Armia received a double-minor penalty for high sticking. So the Oilers had 28 seconds of a power play before going to overtime.
Any and all momentum earned by the Canadiens was lost at that point.
Leon Draisaitl scored the goal that would be the dagger in the Canadiens hopes of earning two points out of the affair. His goal winning marker would come 3:18 into the bonus time.
Calvin Pickard earned the win last night - his 10th of the season. Stuart Skinner on the other hand, was forced to celebrate the win by himself.
After every win Skinner and Vincent Desharnais have a special high-five/hug ritual that they perform as they exit the ice.
But last night marked the first time that Desharnais had missed a game since October. The Oilers blue line has been remarkably healthy, with Mattias Ekholm being the only other defenseman on the team to miss time.
Because of this, Skinner was forced to engage in this ritual on his own.
