Dallas Stars left winger Mason Marchment and Nashville Predators right winger Gustav Nyquist are the top options for Friday's slate.
Mason MarchmentMason Marchment, LW, DAL vs. NSH (47% rostered)
Marchment has been one of the league's best players over the past two weeks scoring 11 points in six games. This is the second time the Stars will meet the Preds in their past four games, and they have a chance to avenge a 4-3 loss. With the Preds' goalies struggling, Marchment is a great option if you want to ride the hot hand. During that six-game stretch, the Stars are averaging a league-best 4.83 goals per game.
Gustav Nyquist, LW, NSH vs. DAL (43% rostered)
The Gus Bus keeps rolling. With an assist Tuesday against the Ducks, Nyquist extended his points streak to nine (!) games. The Stars may be a tough opponent with the prospect of Jake Oettinger returning to the crease, but the Preds' top line with Nyquist, Filip Forsberg and Ryan O'Reilly has been excellent all season. They're one of the league's top lines in generating expected goals at 5-on-5, per moneypuck.com.
Brock Faber, D, MIN vs. PHI (41% rostered)
If you need broad category coverage, Faber's your guy. His usage dropped a little bit in the two-game sweep at the hands of the Stars, but he's still their most reliable defenseman. Scoring on Philly won't be easy, and the Wild just two goals in two games against the Stars, but at the very least you'll get plenty of blocks and maybe a few shots.
Thomas Harley, D, DAL at NSH (41% rostered)
The Stars are using five forwards on PP1, leaving Harley to quarterback PP2. However, using five forwards has yielded mixed results, and not just for the Stars. If you stream Harley, you're hoping he gets a few looks with the top unit. The Preds PK ranks 25th in the league, so there will be opportunities. While the Preds generally don't log a lot of penalty minutes, they are second in the league in majors. It's always difficult to predict how many penalties will be handed out, but perhaps the Stars get lucky and get one or two extended power plays.
Jamie Drysdale, D, PHI at MIN (33% rostered)
If you want offensive upside on defense, look no further. While Egor Zamula takes care of PP1, it was Drysdale who stole the show in his Flyers debut, registering a power-play assist on Morgan Frost's snipe against the Habs. The Flyers played 7 'D', making it a rather crowded blueline, so there's a cap on Drysdale's minutes. However, he's a right-handed defenseman with elite skill, and the Flyers are definitely short on that. The Wild PK ranks 30th in the league.
Ryan Hartman, C/RW, MIN vs. PHI (23% rostered)
In what should be a chippy game — the Wild must be angry following a 7-2 loss, and it's the Flyers — these are the types of games Hartman excels. He's expected to center L1 with Mats Zuccarello and Matt Boldy and scored three points in his past four games. At the very least, he should provide some faceoff wins, hits, shots and maybe some penalty minutes.
