Top streaming options include Quinton Byfield and Ivan Barbashev, who will face each other in a Pacific Division clash.
Quinton ByfieldQuinton Byfield, C/LW, LA at VEG (48% rostered)
The Kings are playing the second half of a back-to-back but this may not be as difficult as it looks on paper. The Knights are also playing the second half of a back-to-back, but they may have a situation in net where they either start Jiri Patera on consecutive nights or give rookie Isaiah Saville his NHL debut. Either scenario should open the offense for the Kings. Byfield scored four points in five games going into the break.
Ivan Barbashev, C/LW, VEG vs. LA (48% rostered)
Like Byfield, Barbashev is playing a top line role without getting much attention in fantasy. Byfield’s offensive ceiling is higher, but Barbashev offers more multi-category coverage and he’s been no slouch on offense lately with four goals and six points in his past six games going into Wednesday’s game against the Ducks.
Mattias Ekholm, D, EDM at SJ (46% rostered)
If you need a defenseman in a pinch, Ekholm’s your best streaming option. He scored four assists in three games prior to the holiday break, snapping a five-game drought. The Oilers offense has come alive again and they should win against the Sharks by a significant margin. Being paired with Evan Bouchard certainly helps.
Teuvo Teravainen, LW/RW, CAR vs. MTL (44% rostered)
Teravainen carried a two-game goal streak into the holiday break and we shall see if he can keep it up. The Canes’ most recent lines had Teravainen playing L1 with Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov, putting him in an excellent position to score. He’s been strong against the Habs in the past with 18 points in 19 career games against the Habs.
Sean Couturier, C, PHI at VAN (30% rostered)
This is a difficult matchup but Couturier’s the Flyers’ best guarantee due to his ice time. The Flyers spread out the ice time among their numerous scoring wingers, but Couturier’s far and away their top option at center. He’s a great source of shots and faceoff wins, and carried a two-game goal streak into the holiday break.
