On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Justin Faulk, D, STL at VAN (20% rostered)
It's like musical chairs with the Blues - pun intended - in regards to their QB on the power play. Right now it's Faulk's spot again, which gives him at least a slight boost in fantasy value. Scott Perunovich and Philip Broberg are a threat to steal minutes, but for now it's still Faulk's spot. The Canucks PK is very average, ranking 14th in the league and they're missing one of their top defensemen in Filip Hronek.
Jared Spurgeon, D, MIN at UTA (17% rostered)
Utah's penalty killing is not good, ranking 23rd in the league, and Spurgeon's drawn the lucky straw as the Wild's PP1 QB. It's a pretty fluid spot where Brock Faber can step in, but it's been Spurgeon's spot for the past little while. His offensive upside is low, but the deployment and matchup is good.
Alexander Romanov, D, NYI vs. LA (8% rostered)
The Isles are at home, which means they'll dictate the matchups, and if you're looking for hits and blocks, Romanov's a great bet. He won't score points at all - it's a huge bonus if he does - and he averages well over two blocks and two hits per game.
Chris Tanev, D, TOR at NJ (7% rostered)
The Devils were shut out on Sunday and surely will put in a better effort, especially with Sheldon Keefe facing his former team. That's actually good news for Tanev's fantasy value because he'll get plenty of chances to block shots. Tanev's fantasy value is basically nil outside of blocks, but if managers are in a pinch, Tanev's always a great option.
