(NEW) Joel Hofer, STL at CLB (6% rostered)
Hofer should be a popular streaming option Thursday even though he's played just sparingly recently, starting just once in the past six games. The Jackets are expected to start third-string Jet Greaves and could have as many as six regulars out of the lineup. This will be the first time Hofer faces the Jackets in his career. A strong start will put him in a position to attain more playing time, so Hofer can also be a deep stash in 14-team leagues if Jordan Binnington falters in the future (and he very well could).
Marc-André Fleury, MIN at EDM (52% rostered)
Fleury doesn’t quite make the criteria – but close enough. The Wild played a disjointed game Thursday against the Canucks and it cost them their four-game winning streak, getting shut out 2-0 after scoring 18 goals in the previous four games.
This might be the toughest matchup for any goalie in the league right now with the Oilers on a roll; they’ve won five straight averaging over five goals per game. The Oilers’ offense is back in form, and that does not bode well for Fleury despite his brilliant 16-5-1/.923/2.32 career numbers against them.
Jet Greaves, CLB vs. STL (1% rostered)
Unless Spencer Martin is starting back-to-back or Elvis Merzlikins is cured overnight, Greaves likely starts. The 22-year-old was a signed as an undrafted prospect from the OHL and made his NHL debut last season on April 4 in an admirable 46-save loss against the Leafs. He was one of six goalies the Jackets used last season, but in his lone start ended up finishing the season with the highest save percentage and lowest GAA.
The Blues have alternated wins and losses over their past eight games and most recently lost to the Knights, 6-3, while the Jackets have lost three straight and allowed seven goals against the Isles on Thursday. In one game, anything can happen, but Greaves set a very lofty standard for himself in his NHL debut. It’d be really hard to replicate and the Blues definitely have the edge.
