Jason Chen and Michael Amato talk about the impact of injuries to Jack Hughes, Nicklas Backstrom and Adam Fox, big contributions from Cam Talbot and Quinton Byfield for the Kings, and the Wild and Red Wings making drastic changes to their power play personnel.
In case you missed it, Episode 9 of the Sleepers and Keepers podcast opens up with Jason Chen and Michael Amato talk about extended absences for Jack Hughes, Nicklas Backstrom and Adam Fox, and which players may step up.
Cam Talbot has taken over the No. 1 job in Hollywood and Quinton Byfield's quickly developing into a star. The Kings have quietly surged to the top of the standings without much fanfare, and there's plenty of fantasy value for the rest of the season.
The Wild are rolling out a five-forward power play with top prospect Marco Rossi joining them and Marcus Johansson playing the point. With the Wild trading Calen Addison to the Sharks, it looks like they're determined to go with this setup, at least until Jared Spurgeon returns or another solution presents itself.
The Red Wings are also switching it up and now go back to just deploying just one defenseman on the top unit with Shayne Gostisbehere. The second unit features the more traditional two-defenseman setup with Moritz Seider and Jake Walman joining forces.
