Panthers have a four-game road trip this week that will have big seeding implications in the Atlantic
The Florida Panthers currently sit two points back of the Boston Bruins in the battle for the number one seed in the Atlantic division. Florida has one game in hand and that could be crucial with just eight games remaining on the Panthers regular season schedule.
Here is a look at both team’s schedules for the week:
Florida Panthers
Monday April 1 - @ Toronto Maple Leafs
Tuesday April 2 - @ Montreal Canadiens
Thursday April 4 - @ Ottawa Senators
Saturday April 6 - @ Boston Bruins
Boston Bruins
Tuesday April 2 - @ Nashville Predators
Thursday April 3 - @ Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday April 6 – vs Florida Panthers
With the Panthers playing four games this week and the Bruins three, they will be at an equal number of games played by weeks end.
Florida will play all four games on the road and the one obviously circled on the schedule is in Boston on Saturday.
They also travel to Toronto and take on the Leafs Monday night. Whoever comes out on top in the Atlantic will more than likely face Toronto in the first round, so this could be a potential playoff preview for the Cats.
The other two games on Florida’s Canadian road trip are Montreal and Ottawa. While both are not playoff teams, they have been playing much better hockey as of late.
The Senators have won 5 straight games and Montreal is a tough defensive team and have two goalies playing well in Cayden Primeau and Sam Montembeault. Don’t let the standings fool you, there are no walks in the park this week for the Panthers.
This week is far from a walk in the park for Boston as well. They travel to both Carolina and Nashville, who were two of the hottest teams in the NHL in March. They then finish the week with the head-to-head matchup against the Panthers.
Exciting week of hockey ahead. This Atlantic division battle will come down to the wire and it all begins Monday night in Toronto.
