A.J. Greer scored his first goal as a member of the Panthers on Saturday against Dallas to give Florida a lead they would not relinquish

A.J. Greer has spent the last few days in Tampere, Finland with the rest of his Florida Panthers teammates. It was a trip none will soon forget.

Greer did not have to go search far and wide for the perfect souvenir to bring home to memorialize his trip.

He collected his souvenir at the 2:32 mark of the third period on Saturday. He scored his first goal as a member of the Panthers. It also broke a 2-2 tie.

"It's always rewarding to get a goal, especially a game-winning goal," Greer said. "But it was very special to get it in Finland in such a big game like this. Just to cap off an amazing week. It was very special."

After Tomas Nosek won a face-off in the Stars' end, Greer slapped a wrist shot into the back of the net.

"Coach put us out there on an offensive-zone draw, and [Nosek] is a great face-off guy," Greer said after the game. "He told me right be he was going to tie the guy up and come pick it up. So, I caught a step and kind of took it to the middle and went short side."

Greer wasn't shy about admitting he got caught up in the moment.

"Yeah, it was awesome," he said. "It was a tight game. We went up 2-0 and we got to push back from a pretty good team. And so in those moments, you need to collectively come around together and dig deep and work for each other.

"And I thought that came back after the second period and we just had a mindset of stick to your game, stick to kind of doing the things that we need to do, and play as if it's 0-0, which kind of was."

Florida completed a successful road trip. They won all five road games, including three in the state of New York. The Panthers will now return home to face the Nashville Predators on Thursday.
