Okposo had planned to share the Stanley Cup with his hometown in Minnesota on Friday
The Stanley Cup has stated its summer tour with all the members of the Stanley Cup Champion.
You may have heard that this year, it’s the Florida Panthers.
Over the past week we’ve started to hear about some of the Cup’s travels, from a Florida Keys fishing trip to hometown visits in New Jersey with Anthony Stolarz and Sunny Mehta.
This week, starting Wednesday evening and wrapping up at midnight Florida, the Stanley Cup went on a tour of St. Louis with Matthew Tkachuk and his family.
It was supposed to depart Missouri on Friday and head to Minnesota, where Kyle Okposo was set to have his day with Lord Stanley’s Cup, but that did not happen.
That’s because of a global software outage that impacted major airlines, financial institutions, emergency services and more.
Okposo was planning to share the Cup with friends and family in Minnetonka, hosting an event at the Pagel Activity Center.
It has since been postponed.
When things happen that are out of your control, like a global software crash, you just have to roll with it.
Hopefully Okposo is still able to get his full day with the Cup and find a way to share it with his friends and family.
